I am 16 years old. I started dancing at the age of 5 when I took my first tap dance class.
I loved it and have been dancing ever since. I have studied tap, jazz, ballet, modern,
contemporary, and hip hop with a lot of inspiring teachers and dancers. My favorite
styles of dance are contemporary, jazz and ballet. I have danced in many productions
including ballet productions of the Nutcracker and Snow White. I am very excited about
my second year as an Ambassador for NCDC. |

This is my second year on Senior Ambassadors at NCDC. I have only been dancing for
roughly five years; however, this is only my second year of professional training. I started
in high school and found dance to be my passion. I quit all three of my sports (water
polo, wrestling, and swimming) my junior year to give my newfound passion my full attention
and devotion. I will be staying in Roseville one more year to further my training in
hopes of getting into a more profound college or conservatory. I hope to some day become
a professional ballet dancer in Europe or on an international ballet company. |

Lizzy has been dancing since she was three years old. In addition to being an Ambassador
at NCDC, she is a member of her high school’s dance company. Lizzy enjoys all
styles of dance but her focus is on modern/contemporary. She plans to major in dance
in college and pursue a professional career that includes performing, choreographing,
and teaching. |

Hayley
Hayley is sixteen years old and a junior. Her mother taught ballet for 30 years, yet Hayley
didn’t become involved in dance until her freshman year of high school. Hayley was
the captain of her high school dance team, and even choreographed dances for her
group to perform. Hayley loves contemporary dance and loves pointe class. Her favorite
thing is to perform and she thinks that NCDC gives her the best foundation and education
in dance. Hayley hopes to continue dancing in college in the BYU modern or Ballet
Theater. Her dream is to dance Juliet in the ballet Romeo and Juliet. |

When I was 9, I started dancing at Hawkins School of Performing Arts. I quickly realized
that this new form of expression was for me. It was an escape from my everyday battles,
and the studio became like a home to me. Through training in several styles of dance
such as ballet, jazz, lyrical, modern, and tap, I discovered that my true passion lies in
lyrical and contemporary. I really feel like this style shows emotion, passion, and reality
more than any other. As a result, during my last year at Hawkins, I was a member of
iMPACT contemporary dance company.
When I made the decision to leave my dance studio, I was faced with many doubts. But
I had to face the fact that dance is dance. It will always be my escape and my passion,
no matter where I am. When I first came to NCDC, I was given the opportunity to become
a Senior Ambassador, and though I was scared, I gladly accepted. I feel like I've
been able to grow as a dancer as well as a person in the short time I've been here. Who
knows were dance will take me in the future, but I will keep dancing until I physically
can't. |

I’m 15 years old and I have been dancing for 11 years, and this is my third year dancing
at NCDC. I have been mainly training in ballet, tap, and modern; However, I just discovered
a new found love for choreography. I hope that in the future I can become a great
choreographer and inspire young dancers just like my teachers have inspired me. I also
hope that I can travel internationally with dance. When I’m not dancing, I enjoy playing
volleyball, hanging out with my friends and family; as well as, taking pictures. |

I am 15 years old and a sophomore. I have been dancing for seven years. This is my
first year attending NCDC, and I am excited to be a part of the Ambassador team. I really
love all styles of dance, but my favorites have to be contemporary and jazz. Whenever
I dance my cares seem to go away. It’s just me in the moment with the music. I’m
in my own little world. Even though I do not see a career path for me in dance because
I want to go into medicine, I am still going to strive to become the best dancer I can be.
When I am not dancing I am usually doing homework because I am an IB diploma student
at my high school. Some things I love other than dance are hanging out with my
friends, reading, watching movies, and listening to music. |

I love to dance. I started dancing when I was about 6 years old and have been dancing
for about 10 years. Dance is my passion. Dance is mental, physical, and spiritual to me.
I've danced at InSync Dance in Auburn, with Junior Valley Dance Ensamble, and I went
to Interlochen Arts Academy for dance my freshman year of high school. I do ballet,
jazz, modern, hip hop, a little tap, musical theater, and swing. I want to learn as many
styles as I can. Dance is my life and love. |

I am 17 years old. I have been dancing for 11 years with many studios. I first started
dancing on the whim of my godmother, Nelle. Since then, my whole family has supported
my passion of dance. My favorite part of dancing is choreographing. I enjoy tap and
contemporary the most, but I study every form of dance. I plan on continuing to dance
throughout my life. Dance is my escape from the issues of the world; the place I can be
truly free |
